Introduction: Tree 7–17 m. tall, the final branches terete or obscurely quadrangular, reddish-brown and then whitish-grey, with somewhat projecting lenticels. Leaves of mature trees with blades elliptic or broadly elliptic, very shortly cuspidate, 2–5 cm. long, 2–5 cm. broad, strongly coriaceous, with numerous adpressed scales on both surfaces but especially the lower. Panicles terminal and axillary on the final branches.
Distribution: Native to Tanzania.
