Introduction: The leaves are opposite, simple, and the leaf blades are papery, round, elliptical, ovate-elliptical or inverted ovate, 4-12.5 cm long, 2-7.5 cm wide, both ends are round or blunt, the base is sometimes slightly heart-shaped, with 4-6 pairs of lateral veins, which are slightly concave or raised on the upper side, protruding on the lower side, the fine veins are often distinct, slightly protruding, except for tufted hairs frequently present in the axils of the veins on the lower side, the rest is hairless; the leaf stalks are 2-6 mm long, short soft hairs, with joints.

Distribution: It is native to the Mediterranean region and Asia Minor.Originally from the Madeira Islands in the Atlantic.
